The Founder's Journey
01New Zealand
A Different Way of Thinking About Community
Living in New Zealand showed me how trust, independence, and everyday connection can shape a community. I saw older adults remain close to the people and places they loved while younger neighbours found affordable ways to belong.
The insight was simple: a home becomes stronger when people are invited to share life, not simply live beside one another. That belief became the foundation for IHSG, and later inspired the creation of CoMate and LifeReady.

“Trust turns a house into a place of connection.”
02Thailand
Returning Home
Each time I returned to Thailand, I noticed a gradual change in the communities around me.
More younger people had moved away for education, careers, and new opportunities. At the same time, more older adults were living independently, often with fewer opportunities for daily connection and companionship.
Growing up, I admired the way Thai communities supported one another. Neighbours helped neighbours, generations spent time together, and people felt connected to where they lived.
Those experiences made me ask whether we could preserve those values while adapting to a changing world.
“The feeling of home is built through everyday care.”
03Personal reflection
One Day, I Will Grow Old Too
I began to think about my own future, too. Like many people, I hope to stay independent while remaining part of a community that knows me.
Growing older should not mean leaving behind the places, relationships, and sense of belonging that make life feel like home.
“Ageing well means staying connected to what matters.”
04The beginning
The Question That Changed Everything
“How can people remain independent, connected, and engaged within the communities they already call home?”
That question eventually became the foundation for IHSG, bringing together CoMate for shared living and matching, and LifeReady for planning, preparedness, and protection.
